Jack Riggs begins 2024 season with DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals at Volusia
Joining his teammate Brandon Sheppard to kick off his 2024 campaign, Jack Riggs unloaded his Riggs Drilling Solutions No. 81J Late Model at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Friday for the second round of the rain-shortened DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals.
In a stout field of 56 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries, Riggs followed up the 14th-fastest qualifying lap in his group with a seventh-place outing in his heat. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the opener, Jack’s night was over after finishing seventh.
On Saturday, Jack recorded a fifth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into a Last Chance Showdown for one final shot at the $15,000-to-win DIRTcar Nationals finale. Transferring only the top-two, Riggs came three spots short with a fifth-place outing.
