Top-10 finish in World of Outlaws preliminary feature at TST
After Mother Nature washed out Thursday’s opener at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.), Brandon Sheppard joined a field of 47 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday for the two-day Alabama Gang 100.
With time trial results setting the grid for Friday’s prelims, Brandon’s 11th-fastest lap in his group positioned him on the sixth row of his feature. Gunning for the $5,000 payday, Sheppard climbed four positions in the 25-lapper to finish seventh.
On Saturday, Sheppard stormed into the redraw with heat race victory. He was awarded the seventh-starting position for the $35,000-to-win Alabama Gang 100 A-Main before a late rain shower forced officials to postpone the event to September 15th.
Brandon remains atop the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
