Podium finish in Dairyland Showdown opener at Mississippi Thunder

Brandon Sheppard debuted with the World of Outlaws (WoO) NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Wednesday afternoon at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Ill.) aboard the Jake Neuman Racing No. B5 Sprint Car.

With the event drawing a massive field of 56 Sprinters, Brandon went 18th-fastest in his group before placing 10th in his heat, relegating him into a C-Main. He fell short of transferring into the B-Main but did find speed by the end of the night and moved forward in his consolation race to finish sixth.

For the rain-shortened World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series Dairyland Showdown on Friday and Saturday at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.), Sheppard stormed into the $25,000-to-win opener with a heat race victory. Muscling forward one spot in the 50-lap affair, Brandon rolled to a third-place finish, chasing race-winner Nick Hoffman and Bobby Pierce to the checkers.

On Saturday, Brandon followed up a third-place finish in his heat with a ninth-to-fourth run in the 50-lap, $25,000-to-win Dairyland Showdown finale.

Sheppard holds a 24-point lead atop the latest World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series point standings.
