Brandon Sheppard third in Ultimate semi-feature; tough night at Macon Speedway

Following the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series to North Carolina on Friday, Brandon Sheppard rolled into Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) for preliminary night of the Ultimate Showdown.

Stopping the clock third-quickest in his group, Sheppard moved into the runner-up spot on the initial start of the 25-lap prelim but eventually settled for third. He trailed Bobby Pierce and Cade Dillard.

Unfortunately, Saturday's $35,000-to-win main event was rained out.

Making the long haul to Macon (Ill.) Speedway on Tuesday afternoon for the $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America opener, Sheppard started ninth in the feature but was involved in a major incident on lap 1 that resulted in him flipping on his roof. Brandon was OK and finished 22nd.
