Sheppard finishes third in Finn Watson Memorial at Ponderosa
In attempt to avoid Mother Nature, Brandon Sheppard brought his Coltman Farms Racing No. B5 Late Model to Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) on Friday for the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals-sanctioned Finn Watson Memorial.
Following a strong runner-up outing in his heat, Sheppard steered to a third-place finish in the 53-lap, $10,053-to-win A-Main. He chased race-long pacesetter Mike Marlar and Garrett Smith to the checkers.
Saturday’s Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals scheduled stop at Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.) fell victim to wet weather.
