Pair of podiums in Silver Dollar Nationals at Huset's
After unexpected trailer maintenance spoiled his plans to compete on Monday, Brandon Sheppard joined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Tuesday for the Kosiski Family 53 at Shelby County Speedway (Harlan, Iowa).
Chasing a $10,000 payday in the feature, Sheppard rolled to a 10th-place finish in the 53-lap opener.
On Thursday, Brandon followed the LOLMDS to Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) seeking a repeat victory in the 14th annual event after picking up the $53,000 payday in 2023. With prelims on Thursday and Friday setting the stage for Saturday’s finale, Sheppard recorded a second-place on Thursday before placing sixth in Friday night’s preliminary feature.
Starting the $53,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals A-Main on Saturday in fourth, Sheppard clawed forward one spot in the 80-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He joined Devin Moran and Bobby Pierce on the podium.
