Brandon Sheppard climbs to 12th in World 100 at Eldora Speedway

Brandon Sheppard’s No. B5 Late Model had a new look this past week as Wednesday’s Castrol FloRacing Night in America event at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) kicked off the 54th World 100 weekend.

Against 81 Super Late Models, Sheppard advanced into the opener with a runner-up heat finish. Chasing a $20,000 payday, Brandon climbed two positions to finish eighth.

After a pair of disappointing outings in preliminaries on Thursday and Friday, Sheppard turned in a sixth-place finish in his heat race on Saturday, relegating him into a B-Main. Needing to place fourth or better to qualify for the $57,000-to-win World 100, Brandon stormed into the main event with an impressive seventh-to-second showing in his consolation race.

Pinned on the 12th row for Saturday night's finale, Sheppard gained 12 positions in the 100-lapper to cap off the weekend with a 12th-place finish.
